2015, Phase!
phasejunk.com

Music by SK.
Lyrics by Dylan Thomas "Poem 39".
Mastered by Raymond Dijkstra.

Phase! is proud to present a series of one-sided LPs, called “Bedroom Solitary”. After 13 years of releasing recordings on a pretty wide range of musical styles, Phase! focuses on the style that intrigues it the most: Bedroom experimentation. The plot is simple. Home-made recordings (lo-fi is not mandatory here) by a single person at his bedroom on a 12” side-length representation. Each volume will be strictly limited and hand-numbered to 99 copies in an offset printed custom hand-cut jacket.

“39” by Silvia Kastel is a numb-feel exploration on isolation and singularity through space and darkness. Neuter beats, crawling vibratos, synesthetic repetitions and robotic ambiances form a two-piece electronic work, hymn to the loneliness of the (artistic) existence. The title track features synthetic chatter on Dylan Thomas’ “Poem 39” while its accompaniment, “Subtract”, flirts with disorientation through distortion and low sparse kicks.

Edition of 99 copies in offset printed custom hand-cut wrap-around jackets on top of black disco bags.

DIGITAL ‘ALBUM’ MANIFESTO:
Phase! doesn’t support digital sales. Every single artist’s hard work has been represented by a physical release, like it should. Bandcamp doesn’t allow the “Enable / Disable Download” checkbox anymore, that’s why we’ve priced every release with a ridiculous amount of hard-earned money so that no one downloads it. It’s up there for all of you to listen to and we’re pretty sure there are lots of ways to make it yours if you want to –with very minimum digital and analog hacking skills– but the music up there, on the Phase! Bandcamp page, is just a virtual reference. Nothing more. If you want to support the artists, please buy music (digital also, if you insist, some do that and we’re totally fine with it) from their Bandcamp pages. If you want to support the label, please buy the old-fashioned, good-looking physical goods and you won’t regret it.
