2014, Phase!
Edition of 60 copies with 1 color double-sided print on olive recycled paper with obi-strip.
"Using field recordings (environment/manipulated bird songs), old piano recordings (memories) and guitar drones (fear), this is an exercise in the limitations of ambient music and it's trying to approach sound in a dynamic way, working consciously on forms and structures in order to create an illusion of order. ‘Owlbites' is nocturnal in its character and it's trying to explore the feeling of fear in an unfamiliar environment. On this occasion the field recordings were made after midnight in a abandoned house in the middle of a forest throughout a whole week of “nocturnal terror”. How do we cope with these feelings? We create our own imaginary familiar environment, full of happy memories from the past (childhood) and sounds that comfort us." -Owlbites

DIGITAL ‘ALBUM’ MANIFESTO:
Phase! doesn’t support digital sales. Every single artist’s hard work has been represented by a physical release, like it should. Bandcamp doesn’t allow the “Enable / Disable Download” checkbox anymore, that’s why we’ve priced every release with a ridiculous amount of hard-earned money so that no one downloads it. It’s up there for all of you to listen to and we’re pretty sure there are lots of ways to make it yours if you want to –with very minimum digital and analog hacking skills– but the music up there, on the Phase! Bandcamp page, is just a virtual reference. Nothing more. If you want to support the artists, please buy music (digital also, if you insist, some do that and we’re totally fine with it) from their Bandcamp pages. If you want to support the label, please buy the old-fashioned, good-looking physical goods and you won’t regret it.
